Via the aerostructures division, CAV offers a complete component and sub-assembly solution to the prime airframe manufacturers. Using advanced manufacturing facilities and a combination of massive capacity together with a skilled and focussed workforce, we have a unique understanding of plant and process. This enables us to provide an end product and service which is unrivalled.

Capabilities include:

• Long bed machining – 32spindles – all 5-Axis, 9 multi-spindle gantries, up to 54 metres in length
• Short-medium bed machining – 18 spindles, 3, 4 and 5-Axis
• General sheet-metal fabrications – CNC routing, rubber and brake press, stretch-form, spot welding
• Major and minor assemblies
• Treatments processes, including:
  • Chromic/Sulphuric acid anodising
  • Boric/Sulphuric acid anodising
  • Alkaline clean
  • NDT – Anodic and Penetrant Flaw Detection (AFD, PFD)
  • Shot-peen
  • Alochrome 1200
  • Heat treatments
  • Paint facilities
